Karbala is the name of a city in Iraq. At that place, the youngest son of Ali and Fatima (R), the grandson of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him), was martyred in Imam Hussein (A) 61 AH. On the other hand, the people of Madinah and Kufr have sought to see Imam Hussein (RA) as a Caliph. During this time, millions of believers sent letters to Imam Hussein (RA). In this letter, they demanded that the Sunnah be resurrected and its responsibility immediately to establish justice.
The Companions of Madinah and the relatives of Imam Hussein forbade the Imam to go to Kufa at this time. Because they feared that the Iraqis would abandon Imam Hussein's side if the obstruction from the Yazid would come.
Responding to the call of the Kufas, Hazrat Hussein (RA) sent his cousin, Muslim ibn Akil, to monitor the overall situation in Iraq. And say, if he sees the situation favorably and the hearts of the Iraqis feel strong and strong, then he should send an envoy to him.
As soon as the Muslim ibn Aqil reached Kufa, 18,000 Kufahs came to him and took the oath of allegiance to Imam Hussein and they swore, "Of course, we will help Imam Hussein with information."
Obaidullah bin Ziyad reached Kufa and subjugated the people with a hard hand and killed the Muslim bin Aqil. The Imam then sent a force of four thousand troops to prevent Hussein.
When Iman Hussein (RA) with his family and companions reached the desert of Karbala on the banks of the river Euphrates, the forces of Ibn Ziyad blocked them.
Until his death, Imam Hussein fought alone. In the end, Imam Hussein was martyred in a very ruthless and cruel manner. Shimar bin jul Jaoshan, a sinful man, had his head cut off from his body
